Ms. Nadine Short, age 86, of The Hestand Community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. She was born in Hestand, Kentucky on July 29, 1935, a daughter of the late Alex and Annie (Tade) Short. Nadine was a devout Christian, attending Germany, Rock Valley, and Hestand Churches of Christ. She retired from Key Work-Clothes in 1987. She is survived by her children; Larry Spear Sr. and wife Patty, of Magnolia, Lou Ann Bartley and husband Randall of Tompkinsville, a lifetime friend; Linda Dicken of Gamaliel, one brother; Willie Coe Short and his wife Carolyn, of Hestand, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother; Billy Joe Short, two sisters; Alvene Poindexter, and Kathleen Baxter, and one granddaughter; Meredith Spear. The family will receive friends at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at Bailey Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning, January 28, 2022. There will be no visitation prior to services on Friday. Brett Crowe will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of donations to Bailey Cemetery in honor of Ms. Nadine. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of The Palace in Red Boiling Springs for their care of Ms. Nadine over the past few years.
