EDMONTON — State police is investigating a fatal collision in Metcalfe County.
The crash happened Jan. 24 at 4:11 p.m., according to a news release. A car failed to negotiate a curve along U.S. 68.
Police said Meridith Spear, 32, of Magnolia, was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima southbound on the roadway. Spear’s vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and hit a truck in a head-on manner. Edward Harris, 54, of Manchester, was driving the box truck involved in the crash.
Harris attempted to avoid the crash but failed. Spear’s vehicle hit the truck.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Harris was not injured.
