GLASGOW — A road rage incident near Park City Monday sent two men to jail.

A deputy with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office stumbled upon a wrecked vehicle along Louisville Road in Park City around 11:07 p.m.

Russell W. Stroud, 40, was near the wrecked car. He was identified as the driver.

Stroud told the deputy a man drove away from the scene after he intentionally hit his car.

Authorities saw a vehicle driving away northbound along Louisville Road. It was stopped, and the driver was identified as 36-year-old William D. Aubrey.

Stroud said Aubrey “chased him” north along Louisville Road. He rear-ended Stroud’s car and conducted a pit maneuver, which caused the vehicle to spin.

The two men revealed during separate interviews that they know one another. Stroud is dating Aubrey’s ex-girlfriend, according to a citation narrative.

Aubrey denied using a pit maneuver on Stroud’s car. He did admit “he had some road rage, and that the front of his vehicle struck the rear of Stroud’s vehicle twice.”

Aurbey was arrested by the sheriff’s office. He was charged with second degree wanton endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident (failure to render aid or assistance).

Stroud was also arrested by a Kentucky State Police unit because he had an indictment warrant. He faces drug charges and a traffic violation.

Both men were lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
