An EF-1 tornado was confirmed in northwestern Barren County, which includes the Hiseville community on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.
HISEVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in northwestern Barren County Saturday.
The Storm Survey Team from the National Weather Service’s Louisville office confirmed the touchdown Sunday.
Preliminary survey results indicated an EF-1 tornado with wind speeds around 95 miles per hour. The results will later be confirmed officially.
The tornado survey comes just three weeks after a similar tornado touched down in Cave City, which is also in the northern part of the county.
