GLASGOW, Ky. – In an effort to help those impacted by the severe weather that trekked through Commonwealth this weekend, Barren County Schools is collecting donations throughout the week.
All campuses will be accepting items through Friday, December 17. You can also bring donations to Tuesday and Friday nights home basketball games at Trojan Gym.
Each school is collecting different items to ensure everything that is needed is received, however you can drop off your donation of any items at whichever campus is convenient for you. For a list of what is being collected click here.
“Our plan is to distribute those items to neighboring counties, especially Hart County.” said Heather Gardner, Public Relations Assistant for the district. “The Hart County Sheriff’s Department sent out a list of needed items, and those items are what we are working to collect at each school site.”
Barren County High School FFA is also accepting donations of items to be distributed to Bowling Green, Cave City and Mayfield according to A.J. Mitchell, Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor at BCHS. For a complete list of what is being accepted click here.
Monetary donations are also being accepted to each of these efforts. Contact any Barren County Schools campus for questions.
