LOUISVILLE — The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outlook for the weekend and parts of next week.

The statement was issued early Thursday. Most of Kentucky is forecasted to expect severe weather of some sort. The southcentral region – including Glasgow – was included in the statement.

“Storms may produce damaging winds and isolated tornadoes as a cold front approaches and moves the region late Friday night into early Saturday,” according to the outlook.

Localized flooding concerns were also listed in the outlook.

Non-thunderstorm gusts could generate winds around 40 miles per hour.

“Since this will be an overnight event, be sure to have ways to receive warnings while you are asleep,” a social media graphic said. “If in a vulnerable location such as a mobile home, consider finding lodging elsewhere with sturdier shelter Friday night.”

The Weather Service said storm spotters are needed Friday into Saturday morning. The hourly rate is $13.
