Alice Meador, age 87, of Summer Shade, died Friday, November 26, 2021, at her
residence. She was born in Glasgow on June 3, 1934, to the late Lester Wood (Jack)
South and the late Mary Francis Depp South. Alice worked in the banking industry,
retail, and served as a caretaker for many families and friends. In her early years,
she was very active in 4-H. She was an excellent seamstress, gardener, carpenter,
and a loving mother to everyone she met. She had a contagious smile and a sweet
soul.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Ross (Chris Jacques) of Summer Shade and
Debbie Billingsley (Danny) of Glasgow; one sister, Elizabeth (Ebbie) South of Summer
Shade; four grandchildren, Wendi Tatum (Daniel of Jeffersonville, IN, Jonas
Billingsley (Amanda) of Owensboro, Jacob Billingsley (Krissy) of Summer Shade, and
Westley Billingsley (fianc Katie) of Glasgow; great grandchildren, Saul and Josie
Tatum, Bailey, Briley, Lilly, and Sawyer Billingsley; grands to be, Gracie and Cole
Hawks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne
Meador; one daughter, Mary Alice (Cookie) Richardson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 14th at Union #2
Church Cemetery. A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
