Dessie Y. Gibson, 91 of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County, KY on April 13, 1930, to the late Samuel Yocum and Laura Devore Yocum. Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker in addition to working for over 40 years and retiring from Mallory’s Capacitor in Glasgow. She was a 1947 graduate of McKinney High School in Lincoln County, and a member of The Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Glasgow.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Houchens (Joe David) of Lucas, KY; son, Steve Gibson of Glasgow, KY; grandchildren, Penny Houchens (Gerald Versluys) of Nashville, TN, and Jenny Moore (Chris) of Lucas, KY; great grandchildren, Landon Versluys, Logan Pursley, Taylor Harlow, and Nolan Harlow.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James “Red” Gibson; a son, Joseph Barry Yocum; and 10 siblings.
