GLASGOW, Ky. — South Central Bank will host an appreciation breakfast for all veterans and first responders Wednesday at its operations center in Glasgow.
South Central Bank employees will serve a drive through breakfast between 7 and 9 a.m. Wednesday. President Owen Lambert says this is the 15th year the bank has hosted the event.
“We’re going to have a drive through breakfast. The breakfast is going to be prepared by some of our personnel,” Lambert said. “It’s sure to be hot.”
The event began when employees took the initiative to host an event for the nation’s heroes.
“It didn’t begin as a bank function or as a company function. It was our employees who had the idea and did this with their own funds,” Lambert said. “And it evolved into what we have today.”
The event was held in a drive through fashion last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event will be the same this year.
“Of course we prefer the sit down, but to protect our patrons and veterans, we’ve decided once again this year to have a drive through,” Lambert said.
The South Central Bank Operations Center is located at 501 L. Rogers Wells Blvd.
