GLASGOW, Ky. — Kentucky State Police has arrested a contracted kitchen employee at the Barren County Detention Center after she was caught bringing in methamphetamine.
Danyita A. Brownsmith, 22, of Glasgow, was arrested Friday morning. Jailer Aaron Bennett reported the incident to KSP, according to a news release. Trooper David Hall and KSP canine “Akim” arrived at the jail around 9 a.m.
Bennett confirmed the employee was not employed by the jail.
Brownsmith was a contracted kitchen employee assigned to the Barren County Detention Center. She was arrested and faces charges relating to first degree possession of contraband, first degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense) and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
