Kentucky State Police Pursuit in Edmonson County Leads to an Arrest

Brownsville, KY. (October 15, 2021) – On Thursday at approximately 6:50 p.m., Kentucky State Police Trooper Jarrod Lewis observed a Chevrolet truck traveling at a high rate of speed on KY-259 North in Edmonson County.  Trooper Lewis activated his emergency equipment but the vehicle failed to stop.  The vehicle fled north on KY-259 where it turned onto KY-2336 (Jock Road). The operator of the vehicle, who was identified as 30 year-old Jared Sherrard of Brownsville, stopped near the 2500 block of Jock Rd.  Sherrard was placed under arrest and lodged in the Hart County Jail.

Jared Sherrard was charged with the following:

  • Speeding 26 MPH or > Speed Limit
  • Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Controlled Substance 3rd Offense
  • Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (motor vehicle)
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Police Officer)
  • Failure to Wear Seat Belt
  • Reckless Driving
  • Multiple Other Traffic Violations
