Betty Jean Watt

Betty Jean Watt, age 77 of the Pine Grove community, peacefully departed this life with her family by her side on Sunday, October 10, 2021.  The Edmonson County native was born on March 10, 1944 to the late Homer and Maggie Johnson Lindsey.  She was married to Norman Watt, who also preceded her in death.

Betty worked in her home to care for her family, and was a member of Oak Grove United Baptist Church. 

She leaves to honor her memory— one daughter, Sandy Poteet (Wendell) of Pine Grove; two sons, Randy Watt (Dreama) of Cedar Springs and Calvin Watt of Pine Grove; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson (Stephen), Tabitha Watt, Scott Lindsey (Katelyn), Justin Watt (Katlyn), Sabrina Holt (Christopher), Jordan Watt and Colton Watt (Kaylee); fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirlene Young of Brownsville and Virginia Burns (Albert) of Georgia and  two brothers, William Jackie Lindsey (Linda) and C.D. Lindsey (Sheila) all of Brownsville. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, David William Watt, and siblings, Jimmie Andrew Lindsey, Harold Lindsey, Margaret Jackson, Martha Poteet and Bonnie Lindsey. 

Interment will be in Pine Grove Church Cemetery.
