Tommy Abell, age 82, of Sellersburg, IN passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Louisville on November 12, 1938 to the late Joseph Stallard Abell and Mary Catherine Ryan Abell. He was married to Rita Neville Abell, who survives.
Tommy worked as a registered respiratory therapist for many years and served as the department head for The Medical Center at Bowling Green, St. Joseph’s in Lexington and Paoli Hospital. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was of the Christian Faith.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, CeCe Tyler (Felton), Patti Atcher (Steve) and Michael Abell (Lisa); sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Abell (Barbara) and John Abell (Glenda); sisters, Linda and Allie. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary.
Graveside services will be at 12 noon, Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Cave City Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
