James Eagle Casteel, Sr., 70 of Glasgow, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, at
the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Monroe County on May 16, 1951, to
the late Enimuse E. Casteel and Audrey Vibbert Casteel.
Mr. Casteel retired from RR Donnelley after 38years. After retired he went on to
work as a Mail Courier for T.J. Samson Community Hospital. James was a 1969 graduate
of Temple Hill High School, and a member of the Poplar Log Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Jamie Casteel (Dana) of Glasgow; grandchildren, Gabrielle
Masker (Nathaniel), Colton Holman (Harlie), Jonathan Casteel, and Kayla Hodge all of
Glasgow; two great grandchildren, Kayslea and Austen Mesker; seven brothers, Jerry,
Danny, David, Teddy, Eddie, Randy, and Terry Casteel; one sister, Jannie Jessie;
several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Kay Casteel;
daughter, Tracy Neal, and one sister, Sheila Simpson.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Saturday, September 11th at the A.F. Crow & Son
Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Log Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday
from2:00pm until 8:00pm and on Saturday morning until time for service at the
funeral home.
