Billy Ray reflects on EPB career

A little over 30 years ago, while the nation was bobbing their heads to Bobby McFerrin’s hit “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” a young man in Glasgow was heading up construction of a ubiquitous broadband network.

This network would stretch throughout the community and incorporate the provision of cable television, utility telemetry and high speed internet.

Basically, he realized that this internet thing just might catch on.

And it certainly did.

His team also realized that being able to send and receive data would benefit everyone and would put us ahead of the game.
