The annual Best in Kentucky Awards were presented on Thursday and Barren County placed in several Top 3 lists.
For Best Place for Live Music, Bush’s Saloon & Dance Hall came in third, behind Hodgenville’s Joel Ray’s Lincoln Jamboree and Paramount Arts Center in Ashland.
Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park placed second in Best Camping Spot, sandwiched between Green River Lake (1st) and the Red River Gorge Geological Area (3rd).
Mammoth Cave would claim two 1st place finishes, Best Place for Adventure and Best Day Trip.
But it was Barren River Lake State Resort Park who claimed the most top-3 finishes of the night. They would place third in Best Houseboating Lake as well as Best Hunting or Fishing Spot. And the Barren River Lake State Park Golf Course would be considered the Best Golf Course in all of Kentucky.
