Geneva Riley Scott

Geneva (Riley) Scott, 81, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Sunday, August 15th, surrounded by her family at her daughters home in Bowling Green, KY.

Geneva was born in Gays Creek, KY on November 6, 1939, a daughter of the late Orpha (Rice) and Paul  Riley.

On December 17, 1955, she married Charles Scott in Indianapolis, IN. Charles preceded Geneva in death on October 17, 2010.

She worked as a cook at various restaurants and for the Monroe County School District. She was a member of Sand Lick Missionary Baptist Church.

Geneva is  survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Rick Whitlock, of Tompkinsville, KY and Linda and Michael Emberton, of Bowling Green, KY;  6 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Geneva is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Kay Ross ,and husband, Randy of Trafalgar, IN and Faye Stonebraker, and husband, Bobby, of Indianapolis, IN. a brother, Paul Riley, Jr., and wife, Teresa, of Indianapolis, IN.

Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by three grandchildren and two sisters, Pauline Mink and Lena Mae Scruggs.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, August 20th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

Visitation is Thursday, 4-8 PM and Friday morning after 8:00 AM until service time at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Geneva’s memory are suggested to Sandlick Missionary Baptist Church.

Due to Covid-19 numbers rising in our area, it is kindly asked out of respect to Mrs. Scott’s family to wear a mask to services
