Kentucky (WCLU) – Governor Andy Beshear held a COVID-19 Briefing on Tuesday, Aug. 10. He gave an update on COVID-19 cases and announced a new Face Covering Executive Order for schools.

Beshear said he will be signing an executive order that will require all individuals wear a mask in all public and private K-12 schools as well as age 2 and up child care facilities in Kentucky, regardless of vaccination status.

“This is how we make sure we protect our children but this is also how we make they stay in school,” said Gov. Beshear.

The executive order will be effective for 30 days, but has the potential to be renewed.
