Pleasant Point Missionary Baptist Church will have revival services beginning Sunday, July 18 at 7Pm each night. Brother Dale Copas is the pastor and Eutre Shirley is the helper. The church is located on Highway 249 near Cooktown.
Cedar Flat Church will have Vacation Bible School, tonight at 6PM with games and refreshments. This Saturday, July 17 there will be a waterslide and cookout day at 12noon. Everyone is invited.
Cave City Farmer’s Market will be open today at the Cave City Convention Center’s Pavilion. To become a vendor call 773-3131.
The Barren County High School Girls Soccer Tryouts will be today at the soccer complex from 7:30AM to 9AM each day. Tryouts are open to all girls in grades 9 through 12 that are enrolled in the Barren County School System. You must bring with you a completed copy of current physical and parent permission forms. Also bring necessary equipment needed for tryouts that include cleats, shin guards and water.
Metcalfe County Waste Tire Collection Event will be today and Saturday at the Metcalfe County Fairgrounds from 7AM to 4PM today and 7AM to 1PM Saturday. Tires that are foam filled, calcium filled, off road construction tires, rubber tracks and solid tires will not be accepted. Retailers, Scrap and Salvage Yard and Recycle Businesses cannot participate. Bring help if you have a large load.
Metcalfe County Tractor 4-H will have a tractor driving contest at the Metcalfe County fairgrounds today beginning at 10AM. Lawn Tractor contest will be for ages 9 to 18 and petroleum tractor contest is for ages 12 to 18. Admission is free.
Pleasant Hill Church of Christ VBS will be this Saturday, July 17 from 9AM to 12:15PM. Registration is from 8:30 to 9AM. Kids will need to be picked up at 12:30PM. The theme is Noah’s Ark. There will be Bible Lessons, Songs, Pictures, Crafts, Stories and Lunch. All kids are invited. The Glasgow branch of Ross Mortgage announced today the firm is partnering with Home Towne Settlement Services, LLC to host a Community Family Appreciation Night at Marquee Cinemas in Glasgow this Saturday, July 17 at 12:30 pm that is free and open to the public. The Community Family Appreciation Night will feature a screening of Space Jam: A New Legacy, starring LeBron James and the Looney Tunes gang. Concessions are available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting the local movie theatre–Marquee Cinemas.

Christmas in July Carnival will be held this Saturday, July 17 from 9AM to 3PM at the Cave City Convention Center. There will be Arts and Crafts Vendors and much more. Contests including the Ugly Christmas T-Shirt Contest. Concessions, games and prizes plus inflatables. This is a fundraiser for Cave City Small Town Christmas.
WKU Hardin Planetarium will present the Ancient Earth Planetarium Show this Sunday at 2PM. Explore the methods and why the answers keep changing as to how old is the earth. Metcalfe County Youth Football Camp will be August 2 through August 5 from 5:30pm to 7:30PM at the Edmonton Memorial Park. The cost is $15 per camper and $5 for each additional sibling. This is for age’s incoming kindergarten through 6th grade. Registration is due July 30.

Meet the Hornets will be held on Friday, July 30 at the Football Field. Carnival Games from 4 to 6:45PM and the Athlete Introductions will be at 7PM. Kid Wristband is $10 which includes all activities and contests and the adult’s contests fee is $10. Proceeds benefit the Metcalfe County Football Program.

Edmonton Metcalfe Volunteer Fire Department Splish and Splash Back to School Bash will be held on July 31 from 12 to 7PM at the Fire House. There will be Dunk Tank, 15ft Tinki Net, Dry Slide, 20 FT Wet/ Dry Slide and Small Combo Wet/Dry. The event is free for kids but they must have adult supervision.
