Thursday, for the first time since January of 2020, the Chamber of Commerce is having a quarterly breakfast.
It will be staged at the Cave City Convention Center.
The keynote speaker will be WKU President, Dr. Timothy Caboni.
As part of the meeting Thursday, a vote of the members present will be taken on changing the name of the organization.
Chamber President Treva Shirley said the recent merger of the Chamber and the Barren County Economic Authority as well as this name change can be tied back to one event:
The announcement of Executive Vice President Ernie Myers of his coming retirement at the end of this year. She said that’s when they decided to explore what had been talked about for sometime-the merging of the Chamber and the Economic Development Authority. Several meetings ensued and not only was the merger developed, but a potential new name, which will be voted on at the breakfast Thursday. That new name will be ‘BARREN INC.”
Again, the breakfast will be Thursday morning at 7:00 am at the Cave City Convention Center.
