On Saturday afternoon around 3:40 p.m., State Police were requested by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a fatal collision. The collision occurred on US 31-E near the intersection of Browning School Road in Barren County. Troopers responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that an unidentified person was operating a Ford Ranger northbound on US 31-E near Browning School Road. The Ford Ranger crossed the center dividing line and entered into oncoming traffic on US 31-E. The truck struck a 2004 Recreational Vehicle, being operated by 46 year-old Samuel Doyle of Glasgow, that was traveling southbound. The operator of the Ford Ranger was pronounced deceased by the Barren County Coroner, The identity of the deceased is yet to be released. Samuel Doyle was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was treated for injuries.
The investigation continues and is being led by Trooper Aaron Hampton. He was assisted on the scene by Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Barren-Metcalfe County EMS, and Barren County Coroner’s Office.
