Mr. Billy Stephen Gillenwater, age 58, of Shepherdsville, KY, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021. Steve was born in Tompkinsville, KY on July 3, 1962, to Billy Z. Gillenwater and Patricia Page Gillenwater. Steve retired from Ford Louisville Assembly Plant after 15 years of service, he was a member of Beautiful Home Missionary Baptist Church where he was saved when he was 10 years old. Steve formerly served as the President of Kentucky Shorthorn Association, he was the Asst. football coach for the Overdale Chiefs, the team his son Jake played for. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, and he was a University of Kentucky fan. Above all he loved his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, 1 daughter, Kaelyn Gillenwater; 1 son, Austin Jake Gillenwater; brother Perry Gillenwater (Sandra); 1 niece, Lacey Martin, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 2: 00 pm until 8:00 pm at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.). Funeral service will be conducted at Yokley -Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY (510 W. 4th St.) on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Beautiful Home Cemetery in Tompkinsville, KY. Family and friends may pay their respects at Yokley-Trible funeral home from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
