EDMONTON, Ky. — A Metcalfe County man shot a gun inside a home and hit his brother Thursday in the vicinity of infants.
The Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office was notified by T.J. Samson Hospital of a gunshot wound on a patient.
A preliminary investigation indicates Jessie R. Lothery, 27, and his brother, Shane D. Paceley, were inside a home along Wilson Circle in Edmonton. The two were smoking marijuana in small living room while three infants and two adults were inside.
Paceley obtained his Ruger 9 mm pistol to show Lothery, and he took possession of the gun. It discharged one round, hit Paceley’s right wrist and caused a serious physical injury. The round exited his wrist and continued through the couch, which was near the infants.
Lothery transported Paceley to T.J. Samson Hospital for the emergency. He was later transferred to another hospital and was admitted.
Lothery was placed under arrest and transported to the Barren County Detention Center for second degree assault and five counts of first degree wanton endangerment.
