GLASGOW, Ky. — Community members will have the opportunity to donate food items Friday and Saturday at Houchens IGA.
The initiative, Feed the Need, is seeking dry good items, canned protein and boxed meals, according to a Facebook post by Shelter Barren County.
A shopping cart will be in place at Houchens IGA Southgate in Glasgow on Friday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The store is located at 619 S. L. Rogers Wells Blvd.
Barren County has a 15.1% food insecurity rate, which is .4% below the state average of 15.5%.
