Joel Panhalkar, 18, of Franklin, Tenn., was arrested and lodged in the Warren County Jail Monday after leading Kentucky State Police on a high speed chase.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — An 18-year-old male was arrested Monday following a high speed chase along Interstate 65 in Warren County.
Kentucky State Police observed a 2012 Nissan Altima traveling at a high rate of speed along the interstate near mile marker 12. The car was traveling northbound from Tennessee.
The trooper activated his emergency equipment, but the vehicle did not stop.
The car continued along the interstate and traveled into Warren County. The car struck the side of another vehicle that was traveling northbound.
A tire deflation device was used, and the car stopped near mile marker 42.
Joel Panhalkar, 18, of Franklin, Tenn., was arrested and lodged in the Warren County Jail.
Panhalkar faces charges relating to speeding 26 mph or more, reckless driving, first degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first degree wanton endangerment (police officer), first degree criminal mischief and possession of marijuana.
Jail records indicate Panhalkar is lodged with a $5,000 cash bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
