Melba Lorene Madison, 94, of Chalybeate passed away at 3:41 PM Saturday March 13, 2021 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.
The Edmonson County native was a homemaker, a seamstress, a member of Eastern Star Chapter 154 in Louisville and a member of New Grove United Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Riley Blanton and Clara Belle Blair Blanton and the wife of the late Rev. Wilbur E. Madison. She was preceded in death by five siblings.
A public walk-through visitation is scheduled for 4-7 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place in Kinser Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Poynter of Chalybeate and Kathy Kestel (Ted) of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Timmy Shawn Richards (Shari) of Sellersburg, IN, Bill Richards (Nancy) of Grand Rapids, MI, Bobby Weikel (Dana) of Brownsville and Sherry Givens (Stan) of Springfield, TN; 13 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.
