Brian Douglas Simmons, 47, of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born February 9, 1974 in Glasgow, Kentucky to David Simmons and Bonnie Ann Davidson Wallace, who survives. Brian was a man of all trades. He worked at many companies, including, Dana, Sumitomo, T. Marzetti, and various others doing a variety of jobs. The last job Brian had was his favorite. He started out as a cook for the Glasgow State Hospital and then transferred to the maintenance department. He absolutely loved working at the state hospital because he loved being around the elderly and making them laugh. Brian was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church for over 25 years and was a graduate of the Barren County High School Class of 1993.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by 3 sons, Clay Simmons (Erica) of Glasgow, Kentucky, Blake Simmons of Huntsville, Alabama, Luke Simmons of Glasgow, Kentucky; two grandchildren and the light of Brian’s life, Tripp Simmons and Berkley Simmons; one brother, Brad Simmons of Glasgow, Kentucky; one stepbrother, Aaron Wallace of Alvaton, Kentucky; one stepsister, Christina Anderson (Jamie) of Glasgow, Kentucky; one niece, Aria Simmons of Glasgow, Kentucky; and several aunts and uncles.
There will be a private family funeral service for Mr. Simmons Saturday, March 6th at 2:00 PM at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Barbour Cemetery. Visitation will be for the public, Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The public is welcomed at the Barbour Cemetery for the Committal service on Saturday.
All those who wish to honor and remember Brian in person at the visitation must wear a mask or other facial covering and practice social distancing while inside the funeral home for safety of those in attendance.
