Mrs. Blanche Lyon, age 96 of Tompkinsville, departed this life on
Friday, October 9, 2020, at her residence. She was born on August 29,
1924, a daughter of the late John Clay, and Annie (Huffines) Anderson.
In April of 1950, Blanche was united in marriage to Ernest Wendell Lyon,
who preceded her in death on November 6, 1980. Blanche was a homemaker,
a devout member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ, and her family was
her world.
Blanche is survived by one daughter; Marlene Jo Ross (Richard), of
Tompkinsville, two sons; Windelll Edd Lyon (Debi) of Corry,
Pennsylvania, and Ray Cecil Lyon (Patty) also of Tompkinsville, seven
grandchildren; Amanda Ross West (James), Nancy Parsley (Daniel), Jessica
Lyon, Jonas Lyon, Kaitlyn Bunt (John), Kaci Ross (Hunter), Garrett and
Kalli Lyon. Seven great-grandchildren, and Three sisters; Wanda
Cornelius of Jasper, Georgia, Runelle Scott Howard of Gamaliel,
Kentucky, Allene Allen of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and one brother
Clay Anderson Jr. of Powder Springs, Georgia also survive.
In addition to her parents, and Husband, she was preceded in death by
three brothers; Billy Joe, Clifton, and Leroy Anderson, and two sisters;
Vivian Presley and Ree Edson.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Blanche will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on
Friday, October 16, 2020, from the Chapel of Anderson-Bartley Funeral
Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
John Osgathorpe will officiate the service.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m on Thursday,
and again on Friday morning from 6:30 until time for services at 11:00.
Serving as Pallbearers; Garrett and Jonas Lyon, Richard O. Ross, Kerry,
and Mark Anderson, Barry Scott, and Clay Anderson Jr.
Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the
Mt. Gilead Cemetery, in honor of Mrs. Lyon, and may be made at the
Funeral Home.
