GLASGOW, Ky. – Glasgow High School has rescinded its announcement, and the football team now faces Logan County on Friday.
The announcement came early Monday that all athletic events for Glasgow High School would be canceled because of Barren County’s “red zone” designation regarding COVID-19. GHS’ policy follows KHSAA guidelines, and all home contests are canceled if the area becomes a “red zone.”
The announcement was rescinded later Monday by GHS Athletics.
Adair County was the Scotties’ original opponent, but their policy prohibits teams from “red zones” from traveling into their community to play. Thus, Adair County canceled the contest with the Scotties on their own turf.
Logan County allowed the Scotties to come to their field, and that meant the game would be on. The announcement came after those negotiations.
WCLU Sports will have coverage of the Glasgow High School and Logan County High School football game on Oct. 2, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
