FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky has topped 800 newly reported coronavirus cases for a fourth straight day. And the statewide death toll is approaching 1,000 after another day of double-digit deaths. Gov. Andy Beshear reported the latest virus-related numbers Friday. The Bluegrass State reported 809 new coronavirus cases Friday. That raises the statewide total to more than 51,670 cases since the pandemic began. Eleven more virus-related deaths were reported Friday, raising the statewide total to 987. Beshear also extended his mask mandate for another 30 days to combat the spread of COVID-19.
