UPDATE: This accident is a fatality, according to Glasgow Police Public Information Officer Terry Flatt.
GLASGOW, Ky. – An accident on the Cumberland Parkway has closed the roadway.
The accident happened some time early Thursday morning in the eastbound section of the roadway. Reports to WCLU’s newsroom say the accident involves a commercial vehicle and a car.
Police confirm the accident is a fatality. The accident happened under the overpass along Kentucky 90.
Traffic is being diverted onto Kentucky 90 and back over to Cumberland Parkway, essentially making a straight path from the off and on ramps. Callers advise there is heavy traffic in the area.
Kentucky State Police and Glasgow Police are on the scene.
