Glasgow man arrested after crashing motorcycle

GLASGOW, Ky. – A motorcycle was stopped in Glasgow on Sunday and an arrest was made.

Police made contact with Shane S. Wheat, of Smiths Grove, after stopping his motorcycle that had no tail lamps. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but Wheat failed to stop and ran into an embankment.

Officers searched a bag that Wheat had and located methamphetamine, digital scales, a large amount of cash, marijuana and a loaded revolver handgun.

Wheat was charged with second degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), no motorcycle operator’s license, first degree trafficking in a controlled substance (second or greater offense, methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was also charged with several other traffic offenses.
