GLASGOW, Ky. – A Barren County man is charged with murder in connection to his 10-year-old daughter’s death from a collision along Coral Hill Road in May.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher M. McCoy, 32, of Glasgow, on Tuesday evening. He is charged with murder and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/ drugs (second offense).
McCoy was involved in a crash with his daughter Addison McCoy on May 9. The crash happened in the 1700 block of Coral Hill Road.
McCoy’s 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was rested against a clump of trees on the side of the road.
Michael Waggener, an alcoholic beverage control representative, responded to the scene and noted McCoy was receiving medical attention and the child was deceased.
Lab reports were completed and indicate McCoy has methamphetamine in his blood sample.
Waggener conducted an interview with McCoy on Aug. 1 and noted that McCoy denied having used methamphetamine on May 9 or any time in his life.
McCoy is scheduled to appear in Barren District Court on Thursday. The warrant was filed on Tuesday, and the BCSO executed the warrant on behalf of Kentucky State Police.
