HART COUNTY, Ky. – A stolen vehicle from Warren County was recovered just north of Cave City on Monday.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Bowling Green Police Department. A vehicle stolen from Warren County was believed to be at an address along Wildlife Road in Hart County.

The vehicle was equipped with a GPS tracking device and was located in the area. The vehicle was described as a white Ford Mustang with black wheels, a news release said.

Hart County deputies and Kentucky State Police responded to the area and located the vehicle at the end of Wildlife Road. A white male, later identified as Jonathan Michael Cox, was observed painting the vehicle black with spray paint.

Cox attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended and lodged in the Hart County Detention Center. He faces charges of receiving stolen property (over $10,000), possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempting to flee or evade (on foot) and resisting arrest.

A warrant for non-related charges from Indiana was also executed.

Further investigation and arrest are pending. the HCSO said.
