Moped driver arrested after possessing several drugs

GLASGOW, Ky. – A moped pulled over along Dripping Springs Road was found to contain meth and pills.

The Glasgow Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Sunday and made contact with Samuel S. Brown, 42, of Glasgow, and determined he did not have a valid driver’s license.

Police also discovered Brown was in possession of methamphetamine, pills and marijuana.

Brown was arrested and charged with no registration plates, no registration receipt, failure of non-onwer operator to maintain required insurance (first offense), failure to produce an insurance card, no operator (moped) license, failure to comply with helmet law (over 21 years of age), first degree possession of a controlled substance (firt offense, methamphetamine), third degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), prescription controlled substance not in proper container (first offense) and possession of marijuana.

Brown was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center. He was released early Monday. He is scheduled to appear in Barren District Court on Aug. 17 at 8:30 a.m.
