Goldie E. Duvall Houchin, age 83 of Brownsville, KY departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Brownsville. She was born in Edmonson County on November 14, 1936 to the late Charlie Jett and Nola Meredith Duvall, and was married to the late Joe Spainhoward and Leland Wayne Houchin.
Goldie enjoyed caring for others as a home health aide and private nurse for many years. That love and compassion was returned to her many times over by the staff at Edmonson Care Nursing Home, where she resided the last ten years of her life.
Goldie was saved as a young girl in February of 1949 and she enjoyed visiting many churches throughout Edmonson County, during her life. She was a member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to honor her memory one son, Neal K. Lindsey (Gwen) of Bee Spring; one granddaughter, Lindsey N. Emslie (Cris); two great granddaughters; one brother, Trent Duvall (Lita) and one sister, Nellie Mings (Junie). She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia M. Parker; one son, Bobby Joe Spainhoward; one grandson, Ernest Matthew Davis; two brothers, Charles H. and Leon Duvall and a son-in-law, Ernest Davis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Edmonson Health Activities Fund.
Interment will be in Midway Church Cemetery.
