Carol Bailey Memorial golf tournament ‘huge success’ despite changes

GLASGOW, Ky. – Several people participated in the Community Medical Care’s Carol Bailey Memorial golf tournament on Thursday.

Due to COVID-19 limitations, the event was held in a less traditional fashion. However, the CMC said the event was “a huge success.”

The golf tournament is CMC’s main fundraising event, which is held at Fox Hollow Golf Club.

The first place team consisted of Greg Jones, Brock Johnson, Joe Eubank and Caleb Dubree.

Other winners include the second place team, which included Ronnie Taylor, Freddie Rigdon, Jeff Buford and Joe Barry Simmons; third place team: Jeff Bishop, Jason Britt, Alan Hapney and Glenn Moore; fourth place team: Kevin Halverson, Cody Pardue, Blake Mattingly and Eric Orsaland; fifth place team: Bart Logsdon, Michael Taylor, Ryan Harris and Chad Fisher; and sixth place team: Shane Samson, Chris Claywell, Brad Robertson and Micket Perkinson.

The first place low gross team consisted of B.J. Owens, Joey Stockton, Jason Ford and Mandy Steger.

The second place low gross team consisted of Randy Hampton, Johnny Belcher, Ron Reeves and Robert Oliver.

Longest putt on the 18th hole was awarded to Jared Pursley. And the closest pin on all par 3s was awarded to Greg Jones, Mandy Steger, Freddie Rigdon, Johnny Belcher and Austin Brashear.

Several event sponsors were involved in this year’s event, including Edmonton State Bank, Dr. Mody’s Corner, Larry Glass Construction, Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home, Glasgow Prescription Center, Norton Healthcare, Span-Tech and T.J. Regional Health.

Several others sponsored holes, a news release said.

The CMC will also hold an event later this year. The 10th annual Extreme Fitness Run for Health 5K walk and run will be held Sept. 19. For more information, visit www.extremeky.com.

Community Medical Care is a local charity that assists low-income seniors with prescription medications and medical needs. The charity depends wholly on community support.
