Kentucky State Police say troopers fatally shot a man who ended an
hourslong standoff with officers by coming out of a residence and
refusing orders to drop a gun. A state police statement says
Shepherdsville police originally went there Tuesday night seeking 22-
year-old Tyler Blevens, who was wanted on felony warrants including
wanton endangerment of a police officer. State police were called
when Blevens barricaded himself inside. It ended Wednesday morning
when police say Blevens came out with a gun and didn’t respond to
orders to drop the weapon. Authorities say troopers fired and Blevens
was pronounced dead at the scene.
