Local nursing facility owner, Scottie softball benefactor dies following farming accident

AUSTIN, Ky. – Kay Bush, owner and administrator of Glenview Health and Rehab Center, died in a farming accident on Wednesday.

“[Bush died Wednesday] from injuries sustained in an accident that occurred while she was involved with her favorite hobby of working on her farm,” according to Bush’s obituary.

Bush was also a benefactor for the recently constructed Bush Stadium at Kiser Field, which gains its namesake from Bush and Amelia Kiser.

Bush had pledged $5,000 over the next 20 years for naming rights on the softball stadium that resides near Glasgow High School.

Bush an advocate for Lady Scottie Softball. The Glasgow Independent School system constructed a stadium, which was completed last August. Throughout the school system’s deliberations to construct the stadium Bush took a firm stance in gaining a location for “the girls.”

Alongside her private farm, she also owned and worked as an administrator at Glenview Health & Rehab in Glasgow.

“This is an incredible loss to her family, friends, staff, and residents of our facility, and she will be greatly missed,” said a statement posted to Facebook from Glenview Health & Rehab.

Bush’s funeral is slated Friday at 1 p.m. at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow. A walk-through visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until the time of her service.

The family requests that masks are worn and social distancing is maintained while at the funeral home.
