GLASGOW, Ky. – A man is behind bars after an alleged attempted murder in Barren County.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to 6039 Dripping Springs Road at 2:24 p.m. on Monday. A man had reported that his wife had stolen his vehicle and attempted to run him over.

It’s unclear why the wife was attempting to steal the vehicle.

While the BCSO was en route to the call, the Glasgow Police Department alerted that they had made contact with the wife and car along Sandy Lane in Glasgow. Authorities say the vehicle had multiple gunshots throughout it.

Authorities made contact with Stephen J. Tang Jr., 33, on Dripping Springs Road. Tang told deputies that he had stepped into the roadway in an attempt to stop his wife, but she drove around him in the yard. When she reentered the roadway, Tang fired a weapon toward the rear of the car.

Two other males were inside the car at the time of the shooting, a BCSO news release said. One male sustained minor injuries from broken glass from the back windshield.

Tang was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of attempted murder (domestic violence) and tampering with physical evidence.
