GLASGOW, Ky. – An early morning traffic stop Wednesday along the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway resulted in two arrests.
Glasgow Police said a car was stopped for speeding on the roadway. Police made contact with Fredrick F. Reed, 27, of Bowling Green, and detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The officer located a Glock 9 mm handgun under the driver’s seat, marijuana, 85 Alprazolam pills, codeine and a large amount of cash.
A passenger, identified as Jordan Johnson, 28, of Glasgow, was also in possession of a handgun. Police said the gun was a Glock .380 and it was located inside his waistband. A bag contained several Nerd ropes with THC and other marijuana products.
Johnson faces charges relating to possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and second-degree possession of a controlled substance (codeine).
Reed was arrested and charged with speeding 15 mph over the limit (limited access), third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (first offense) and possession of marijuana.
Jail records indicate Reed was released from the Barren County Detention Center on Wednesday shortly after 7 a.m. Johnson is lodged at the jail.
