Tarry to serve as interim DoT for Barren Co. Schools, Jenkins moving closer to home

GLASGOW, Ky. – Barren County Schools announced Monday that Chip Jenkins is resigning his position as Director of Transportation for the school system.

Jenkins is moving to a school district closer to his home, said a news release from the school system.

Bud Tarry will replace Jenkins. Tarry served as Director of Transportation for over 16 years before his retirement. He’s also been involved in public education for 41 years.

“Over the course of his career Mr. Tarry served as President, Executive Director, State Director, and Legislative Liaison for the Kentucky Association of Pupil Transportation,” the news release said.

Tarry also holds a certification from the National Association of Pupil Transportation.

“We are very fortunate to have Mr. Tarry serving in this capacity,” said Superintendent of Barren County Schools, Bo Matthews. “His understanding of our transportation department is extensive, and he has a heart for Barren County Schools.”

Tarry will begin work on July 1, 2020.
