GLASGOW, Ky. – A Springfield, Tenn. man was arrested Wednesday after police discovered drugs inside his vehicle.

Authorities conducted a traffic stop along the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway and made contact with 60-year-old William Rentas. Police confirmed he had a suspended license and the vehicle had no insurance.

A detective with Glasgow Police observed a glass pipe lying on the floor board of the car that contained a white powdery substance inside it.

A search of the car resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and digital scales.
Rentas was arrested and charged with several traffic offenses and first degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense, methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jail records also indicate Rentas was arrested Saturday in Edmonton because he was driving on a suspended or revoked license.

He was lodged at the Barren County Detention Center.
