SAVOYARD — Two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Kentucky 314 and Ratliff Mitchell Road in Metcalfe County Saturday. One person was flown away from the scene.
The Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash shortly after noon. The call detailed an entrapment, according to a news release from the Metcalfe Sheriff’s Office.
A preliminary investigation found Tasha R. Cross, 40, was driving a 2013 Kia Forte northbound when she failed to recognize the stop sign and stop at the intersection of KY 314. Cross’s vehicle traveled directly into the path of a 2018 Chevy Silverado traveling eastbound along KY 314. Eddie L. Garmon, 50, of Center, was driving the truck.
Cross’ vehicle came to final rest off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway. The Silverado came to final rest in the westbound lane of KY 314.
Cross was mechanically extracted from her vehicle and transported via air ambulance to Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., where she was admitted for injuries, authorities said.
Willie Cross, 20, and a juvenile female were both inside Cross’ vehicle. They were transported via ambulance to TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow for treatment of minor injuries. Garmon refused medical treatment at the scene.
Alcohol was not a factor in this collision. Seatbelts were in use at the time of the collision.
This collision remains under investigation by Metcalfe Sheriff Lonnie Hodges.
