TOMPKINSVILLE — State road crews are set to install Friday news stop signs at the intersection of Kentucky 163 and 100 in Monroe County.

The intersection will become a four-way stop. Currently, only motorists along the KY 100 approach to the intersection must stop.

Oversized dual-mounted stop signs and oversized stop ahead signs will be installed along the KY 163 approaches to the intersection.

Message boards to inform motorists of the change were placed near the intersection earlier this week. The change is being done to improve the safety of the intersection, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said.

Motorists should use caution when in this area as it will take time for drivers to get used to the changes.
