FEMA deadline extended to apply for disaster assistance

GLASGOW — Those impacted by deadly and disastrous tornadoes last December have until March 14 to apply for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The deadline was formerly Feb. 11. An extension was made last week.

Homeowners and renters with uninsured or underinsured damage to their properties in Barren, Caldwell, Christian, Fulton, Graves, Hart, Hickman, Hopkins, Logan, Lyon, Marion, Marshall, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Taylor and Warren counties are eligible.

Those who’ve applied for assistance do not need to apply again. The extension was provided for those who’ve not applied yet.
