GLASGOW — Niko Moon will soon headline the Historic Plaza Theatre’s event schedule.

The concert is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m.  Helping the Hardworking, a local non-profit, is sponsoring the event.

“This will be a great opportunity for anybody that’s a Niko fan to come out and hear him,” said Jamie Byrd , the founder of Helping the Hardworking.  “It’s a small theatre so it’s going to be a great show, and we’d really like to see everybody out there.”

All proceeds from the event will go to the non-profit’s mission of recognizing the community’s hardest working individuals.

Several musical influences like John Prine and Kris Kristofferson led to Moon’s musical persona, which is “a mix of hooky melodies, shred wordplay and edgy, electronic beats,” according to his website. He’s also written music for several artists such as Zac Brown.

“He’s up and coming, so this will be great opportunity for him as well,” Byrd said. “He’s coming out of Nashville, so we’ve got some good connections to get him and maybe some others down the road as well. We’re hoping this one becomes a success and we can do more of these to help support Glasgow and this area.”

Tickets are available at historicplaza.org. Questions should be directed to helpingthehardworking@gmail.com.
