GLASGOW — A man was arrested in Barren County early Sunday after a reported sodomy.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office was contacted about a sexual assault. Kentucky State Police stopped a vehicle near Elizabethtown and contacted 26-year-old James P. Dehner.
Detective Adam Bow responded to the 16-year-old juvenile involved in the case. He told Bow Dehner picked him up around 3:46 a.m.
“He stated that he [Dehner] then reached over and laid his seat back,” according to the citation narrative.
Dehner removed the juvenile’s pants and performed oral sex on him, Bow said. The juvenile was then sodomized.
The suspect was transported to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office and interviewed. Dehner told police he only talked to the juvenile after he picked him up, but police discovered the two engaged in sexual acts.
Dehner’s phone provided police with information regarding the length of communication between the two. Apparently, the suspect and juvenile began to talk when the juvenile was 15. The two also engaged in sexual acts at that earlier age, too.
Dehner told police he believed the juvenile was 17 but later said he had concerns the juvenile was younger than 17.
He’s charged with third degree sodomy. Jail records indicate he was lodged in the Barren County Jail sometime after 8:30 Sunday morning.
