CAVE CITY — Services are available to people impacted by recent tornadoes in northern Barren County.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, American Red Cross and a service for small business are available at Cave City’s city hall daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. FEMA is available through Jan. 9.

The agencies are available to quicken the claims process for damage compensation and other disaster relief.

Documents showing proof of ownership or residence can be scanned directly to be processed quicker, said Barren County Emergency Management Director, Tracy Shirley.

Shirley said folks should attempt to file claims sooner than later in the event they need to provide more information to federal agencies.

FEMA is scheduled to be back in Cave City from Jan. 20 through Jan. 27. The agency plans to return to assist people with additional document gathering needs.

For more information, contact the City of Cave City at (270) 773-2188. The relief headquarters is at City Hall, which is located at 103 Duke St. in Cave City.
