GLASGOW, Ky. — A man passed out behind the wheel of a running car last week was taken to the Barren County Detention Center.
Glasgow Police responded to Circle K along Columbia Avenue Nov. 27. A vehicle in the parking area was still running and a man was apparently unconscious inside the vehicle.
Jason Wheat, of Austin, was the man inside the vehicle. Officers conducted field sobriety tests and determined Wheat was under the influence of methamphetamine.
Wheat faces charges relating to operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance (first offense), first degree possession of a controlled substance (third or greater offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
